Onsite Sales and Transactions

On-site event sales are not possible if using Square as a merchant. 

Additionally, sales are only available on iOS devices.

 

Configuring Cash Sales

To enable cash sales on the Check-In app, you first must set up cashier users.

Refer to: Cashier & Register Users

After creating a cashier user, log into the Check-In app:

  1. At the top of the Check-In app, choose Log In next to Cash Disabled
  2. Enter the cashier username and password
  3. Select Login Now
  4. Select Start Shift
  5. Any cash transactions will be logged and associated with this cashier user

Processing Transactions

  1. Ensure the credit card reader is fully seated into the headphone/microphone jack
  2. Turn up the volume to 100%
  3. Tap on the desired product. One tap will add it to cart
    1. Tap as many times as needed
  4. Tap the green Credit or Cash button
  5. Select delivery method - Send by email or send by text
  6. Enter email address or Phone Number

Credit Card Sales

  1. Tap Credit Card Checkout
  2. Wait for the credit card reader to connect - a green bar will appear and say Please Swipe Card
  3. If required, enter CVV and or Billing Zip
  4. The transaction will complete and display a success message

It is possible to enter card details manually. Choosing Tap for Manual Entry will open the camera to scan the attendee's credit card. Select Enter Manually (bottom right) to enter the credit card details.

Cash Sales

  1. Tap Cash Checkout
  2. Enter the cash amount provided by the attendee. The preset options make it easy to enter standard amounts quickly.
  3. Select Exact Change to calculate the change amount
  4. Select Complete Order to complete the transaction

Clearing The Cart

  1. Select Settings and Options
  2. Tap Reset Order if you need to clear out the shopping cart of any products

Updating Products and Categories

  1. Select Settings and Options
  2. Tap Refresh Items if any changes are made in the Leap Conventions admin and need to be reflected in the app

Auto Check-In

Auto Check In Enabled will ensure a product is automatically checked in after the transaction.

Filtering Items

Filter items are used to sort by category or show only selected categories. 

Use this if you have many categories and want to jump to a specific one quickly. 

Product Admin Setup

  1. Log into Leap Conventions
  2. Load the event
  3. Head to Products > Products > Edit
  4. Ensure Active in App is set to Yes
  5. Ensure there is a price listed
  6. Navigate to Event Setup > Check In App Setup to configure service fees, and if CVV, and billing zip code are required
