Once downloaded, power on your device and open the Check-In App to get started!
Wi-Fi
Connect the device to Wi-Fi by tapping the System Preferences/Settings app, locating Wi-Fi settings, and connecting to your desired network.
Cellular Data Plan
If available, enable cellular data by opening the device Settings and locating Cellular Data > Enable.
Login Credentials and Allow Permissions
Login credentials are created within the Leap Conventions Event by heading to Users > User Management.
Upon logging in, enable the three device permissions:
- Enable location
- Enable the microphone
- Enable camera
Simple Check-In Mode
Refer to Adding Users for more information on how to change permissions and check-in modes for staff in Conventions.
This streamlined mode is perfect if your staff only need to scan tickets. When enabled, they'll see a simple camera view with a QR code scanner. It's designed for quick, no-fuss check-ins to keep lines moving smoothly.

Regular Check-in Mode
This is the regular homepage with all permissions enabled that you will see after logging in. This mode allows you to check-in and sell tickets, sell products and merch, schedule check-ins and print tickets.

Checking-In Tickets
1. Set Location
Some events have multiple check-in zones (e.g., Main Entrance, VIP Area).
Refer to: Location Setup
Ensure your device is set to the correct location. Under Check-In:
- Confirm or select your current location.
- The default setting is All Locations unless you select others.
- You can reset to All Locations by pressing the button at the end of the drop down menu:
- Your location determines which tickets can be scanned.
2. Choose Check-In Mode
Tap the mode selector at the bottom of the screen to choose one of the following:

Mode | Description |
---|---|
Admission Tickets | Default mode for general entry passes like Day, VIP, or Weekend passes |
Products | For items such as autographs, merchandise, or photo ops. |
Everything | Shows all ticket types and products. Use only when necessary. |
For registration or entry gates, always select Admission Tickets to avoid accidental check-ins of other items.
3. Checking-In Tickets
Single Tickets
To check in one ticket:
- Tap Scan Single Ticket.
- Use your device’s camera to scan the attendee's QR code.
- Review the ticket details.
- Tap the empty circle next to the ticket to mark it as Checked In.

A green checkmark confirms a successful check-in. Scanning the same QR code again will not work, it is already redeemed.
Multiple Tickets
For families or groups arriving together:
- Tap Scan Multiple Tickets.
- Use the camera to scan all QR codes.
- A large zero will appear on the screen as well as a counter on the top-right to keep track of how many were scanned:

3. Tap Done when all tickets are scanned.
4. The system knows when all tickets are scanned, it will not rescan the same QR code, and the counter will not exceed the number of tickets presented.
5. On the results screen, tap each circle next to the ticket to check it in.

6. You can also tap "Check In All Tickets" at the bottom of the screen if all attendees are present.

Logging Out or Switching Events
To log out of the app or switch events navigate to the Account tab at the bottom of the home page.

Handling Common Errors
Option 1: Search by Name or Email
If an attendee cannot access their QR code (e.g., lost phone, no email):
- On the home page, tap the Last Name Lookup icon.
- Enter the last name or email address used for the ticket purchase.
- Select the correct name and ticket type.
- Tap the tickets to check them in.
Option 2: Switch Mode
If you see the error: "No non-admission products were found for this order."
It means you're scanning in Products mode, and the ticket is for Admission. To fix this:
- Switch back to Admission Tickets mode.
- Scan the ticket again.
Tips
- Double-check your mode before scanning.
- You can rescan tickets in multi-scan mode.
- Use search when QR codes aren’t available.
- Always confirm the ticket status before handing out credentials.
