Product Categories

Leap Conventions organizes the many different types of products by category. Think of this as a file and folder type system. Creating them and editing them is easy!

Access

Navigate to Products > Product Categories

The product categories table will display a total list of all product categories. The table will display:

  • Name - Displays the name of the product category
  • Active Products - Displays how many products in the system are within that category
  • Hidden - Indicates if this category has been marked as hidden
    • This option will make the category visible only when directly linked to it. For example, using the direct purchase link. The category will not be displayed on the front-end website or consumer app.
  • Visual - Indicates if the category has been marked as visual (product images will appear in the checkout flow)
  • Floating - Indicates if the category has been marked as floating
  • Actions 
    • Direct Purchase Link - Opens a new webpage that displays all of the products available for purchase within the category
    • View Products - Opens a new page that displays all products within that category–with tools to manage those products
    • Edit - Opens the edit page of the category
    • Delete - Deletes the category

Product categories can be re-arranged on the table by selecting the Order Product Categories button and dragging the categories into the desired order.

Adding a Product Category

  1. From the Product Category page, select Add a Product Category
  2. Give your category a name and select Create Product Category
  3. You will be taken back to the Product Category index page
  4. Find your new category and select Edit to customize the details of the category

 

  • Category Name - Name of the category
  • Category Description - Detailed description of the category. Useful for the consumer app or frontend website.
  • Hidden (toggle) - Toggles whether the category is hidden from the frontend website or consumer app
    • Toggle a product category as hidden if you want to send direct links separately from the main website/app
  • Reveal Code - Enter a custom reveal code for this category
    • If using a Hidden category, a person can enter this code to gain access to the category of tickets

Entering the access code

  • Visual Category - In the hybrid checkout page, this category uses the visual style (layouts 2 & 3)
  • Floating Category - In the hybrid checkout page, you can have this category float to the left at all times. Limited to a single category. Will bypass flags like'Hidden'.
    • In Layout 3, an entire step in the purchase flow is presented after the attendee selects an admission product
  • Product Category Image - Upload a custom image for the product category that will display on the sales tab of the Leap Conventions check in app or checkout page
  • Print template Override (Badging) - Enter a custom print template to override the default
