Leap Conventions Glossary

Check out this glossary of common Leap Conventions terms.

Event: A single event that is one or more days in which the Event Producer is selling a product, managing content, or organizing data.

Event Producer: The account associated with Events, that provides a connection between all events run by a particular company.

Producer: The user that is associated with an Event Producer account.  This user is automatically assigned to all new events created under the Event Producer. This user can see Producer level reporting and create new or assign existing, Managers and Users.

Manager: A user with a complete permission suite, closely mirroring that of a Producer, without the ability to see Producer level reporting or create/assign Managers.

User: A user with specific, granular permissions to different navigational sections of Leap Conventions.

Product: An item that is for sale. This can include tickets, merch, intangibles, Q&A, panels, classes, autographs, photo ops, and more!

Product Category: A tool used to organize Products into different verticals.

Product Tag: An internally used tool to horizontally connect products in different Categories.

Schedule Item: A piece of content, usually created by the Producer team, for use in the Schedule Manager.

Gaming Schedule Item: A piece of content, usually created by attendees, for use in the Gaming Manager.

Product Voucher: A free product delivered to a recipient that can either be claimed by the intended customer, or automatically claimed and a ticket delivered.

Attendee Registration: This is the same as Badge Activation. It encapsulates the idea of registering a credential to a specific attendee.  Surveys can be attached to this process to acquire information from the attendee.  Through the use of a verified email address, and a QR code/RFID tag on the credential orders can be assigned to this credential allowing the customer to use it for everything.

Fulfillment: This is the process of mailing credentials, or other physical products, to attendees.  This is not the act of providing a credential to an attendee onsite.

People: A very broad term encapsulating an individual (staff, celebrity, guest, entourage, manager, agent, etc) who's data is being managed within the People Manager.

Forms: Forms provide the ability for a client to build custom surveys or questionnaires to provide to customers.

Guest: A person of interest for an event, with a need to display a bio, image, and connect to Schedule Items.

Celebrity: A Guest with the additional requirement to track hotels, travel, guarantees, or expenses.

Check-in:  The act of scanning a QR code associated with a product.

Tapping in: The act of scanning an RFID credential for access to an event venue.

Order: A completed transaction.
