Refer to this article when you need a guide on using the Purchase section of the Conventions Check-in App.
The Check-In app is compatible with devices running iOS 11 or later.

Purchase Page Overview
The Purchase tab in the Conventions App is used for on-site sales of tickets, upgrades, and add-ons:

Product Tiles
- Tap on the various product categories that you have set up for your event.
- Tap again on a tile to add the item to cart:
- To remove items from your cart:
- Tap again on the item in the sidebar list.
- Or click Settings & Options > Reset Order to clear your entire cart.
Checking Out
After adding items to your cart, you can add promo codes, see totals with taxes and fees, and head to checkout.

- Promo Codes: Enter any applicable promo codes and tap Apply.
- Checkout Total: On the right side, you’ll see a live cart total, including any taxes or service fees.
- Tap the green Credit button to complete the transaction.

NOTE: Only credit card payments are supported on this screen. If cash is enabled for your setup, refer to the cash checkout below.
4. Delivery Method
Choose how the customer would like to receive their ticket or order receipt:
- Send by Email (default option)
- Send by Text (SMS)
Tap the preferred method, then enter the Email Address or Phone Number in the field.
5. Payment by Credit Card

"Initializing Card Reader..." This message will appear as the app connects to the attached credit card reader. If it stays here too long, check the reader’s connection or power.

Swiped Credit Card
Use this option when a physical card reader is connected. The app will wait for the attendee to swipe their card through the reader. -
Manual
Allows staff to manually type or scan in the card number, expiration, and CVV. This is useful if the card reader is unavailable or the swipe fails.
- Scan Option: Hover the camera over the physical card and automatically capture the card details for payment:

- Enter Manually: At the bottom right corner of the card scan screen, tap Enter Manually to type in the card number, expiration, and CVV. This is useful if the card reader is unavailable or the swipe fails.

Cash Checkout
If your event setup supports cash transactions, you can accept and process payments in cash using the Conventions App. Please follow the steps below to complete a sale and manage your shift properly.
Before You Begin
- Check Cash Activation
- At the top right corner of the main purchase page, if it shows Cash Disabled like below, you must log in.

- Log in with Cashier Credentials
Tap Log In at the top right and enter your cashier username and password. - Start Your Shift
After logging in, tap Start Shift to begin tracking cash totals.

4. Proceed to Checkout
- After selecting products, tap the Cash button at the bottom of the purchase screen.
5. Enter Delivery Method
- Choose how the customer would like to receive their ticket or order receipt:
- Send by Email (default option)
- Send by Text (SMS)
- Tap the preferred method, then enter the Email Address or Phone Number in the field.
6. Enter Cash Received
- Manually type in the amount of cash given by the attendee.
- Or, tap one of the preset buttons ($1, $5, $10, etc.) for quick entry.

7. Provide Change
- Tap "Complete Order" to receive a notification for how much change is owed:
8. Complete the Order
- Once everything is confirmed, tap Ok to finalize the transaction.
- You should receive an Order Successful checkmark to ensure everything went smoothly:
Ending Your Shift
9. Log Out at shift end
- Tap Log Out at the top right of the screen.
10. Review Total Cash Taken
- Double-check the total cash amount shown matches the physical cash in your drawer.
- Report any discrepancies.
