Ticket Insurance

Note: Ticket Insurance is enabled on all events for clients processing on Leap Merchant Services. Clients processing on their gateway may be eligible to contract with FanShield. Please email clients.conventions@leapevent.tech for an introduction to FanShield.

Basic Insurance Information

Leap Conventions is proud to partner with Protecht. Ticket insurance offers a number of benefits to both the event organizer and the end customer.

Ticket insurance primarily covers a ticket purchase from unexpected situations, including vehicle accidents, injuries, illnesses, or legal obligations preventing the customer from attending an event.

Ticket Insurance provides the following benefits:

  • Reduced risk of refunds and chargebacks
  • Early revenue as customers make safe purchases earlier
  • Not responsible for any refunds for insurance claims

Protecht Ticket Insurance can be used for any product sold through Leap Conventions (admission, merch, Q&A, photo ops, autographs, special events, and more).

What Is Not Covered by Ticket Insurance?

Ticket insurance does not cover event cancellations, performer lineup changes, or a customer’s change of heart, or many other scenarios.

FanShield covers situations that prevent the ticket buyer from attending, not situations that affect the event itself. Refer to Protecht’s Help Center

Reporting

Clients can go to Reports > Product Reporting to see a Ticket Insurance report that will provide detailed information regarding customers who have purchased ticket insurance for their event.

Claims and Refunds

When a customer successfully claims a policy and refunds their order, the order will automatically be marked as canceled and refunded within Leap Conventions.
