Volunteer Settings


To get started with the Volunteer Management tools, it is recommended to set up your event calendar defaults.

Navigate to Volunteer Manager > Volunteer Setup > Volunteer Settings.

Calendar

Enter calendar start and end dates which correspond to your volunteer event schedule. This will set the range of dates for volunteer shifts and assignments.

You can also set the start and end time to restrict the time display on the calendar.

Volunteer Application Type

The next option is the volunteer application type. These two types of applications are be used when recruiting volunteers. 

Standard Application

The standard application consists of general information that is needed within Leap Conventions, such as first name, last name, email contact information, and then a few experience-related questions.

The standard application is one of the few applications within Leap Conventions that has conditional logic functionality. If a volunteer marks something as yes, it opens up another question to ask contextual information. 

Tip: The standard application is not a form. You would not navigate to Event setup > Form Builder to adjust it.

 

There's no customization of the questions, but you can customize some of the verbiage that's presented prior to the application.

Expanded Application

Expanded application is where you can customize the application itself. 

What about conditional logic in Expanded Applications? This functionality is not available in the Expanded Application. You either get the nested Standard questions or you use the Expanded Application and create all custom questions.
