Affiliate Links

Affiliates in Leap Conventions are a system designed for a third party to promote your event and potentially drive sales, with a possible monetary reward. The creation of Affiliates and their management and financial reports are all managed within Leap Conventions. The only aspect of the Producer-Affiliate relationship that is not managed is the actual exchange of money. Once an Affiliate is created, it will allow a special purchase page with the Affiliate Code appended to the back of the URL, which will assign credit for the transaction to this specific Affiliate.

How to Create Affiliates

In the Navigation Bar, hover over Marketing and click Affiliates from the flyout menu.

You will find yourself on the Affiliate Index Page. There are a variety of actions you can take here, like setting up a Variable Payout Schema, looking at a report of the behavior and efficacy of your Affiliates, or even setting up a self-sign-up portal for potential Affiliates.  For this article, we will cover the creation of an affiliate by an event staff member.

  1. Click on the Create an Affiliate button on the index page.
  2. You will be able to decide on and input your Affiliate Name right now. Enter it in the empty field presented to you and click ‘Create Affiliate’. This will create the Affiliate using that name and generate a random affiliate code for them.
  3. Finishing that step, you are returned to the Affiliate Index Page.  Now, click on the Edit button for your new Affiliate that you just created.
  4. You are now presented with a variety of options to configure and edit your Affiliate.  The options are as follows:
    1. Active: This toggle turns the Affiliate Code on and off for use.
    2. Affiliate Name: This is simply the name of the Affiliate person or group.
    3. Code: This is the code that is appended to the back of the purchase page URL to allow this affiliate to get credit for the transaction.
    4. Phone: This field is not required, but allows you to keep a record of the Affiliate’s phone number.
    5. Email: This field is not required but allows you to keep a record of the Affiliate’s email address..
    6. Use Variable Payout Schema: Affiliates can, and the system supports, be rewarded with a specific monetary value for their efforts in selling tickets to an Event.  The default rate is set in the following option, but the Variable Payout option can also be used.  This allows an Event to reward Affiliates that work harder with a higher percentage.  This feature is configured on the Affiliate Index page.  This toggle opts into the configured system.
    7. Default Percent Payout Rate: This is the percentage of sales that the Affiliate is entitled to.

The admin supports the creation, editing, and deletion of affiliate records, but from time to time, you may need to bulk import affiliate records into the system.
